I have been bothered by PN for over half a year. And I visited this board for tips and suggestions. Now I would like to share my curing experience with
everyone so that people can benefit.
In May my PN started develop. I didn't pay attention to it at all, just thought it's some itching skin. In June it quickly worsened and I went to see a
Dermatologist. He thought it's Scabies, but of course the prescription doesn't make the itchiness any better.
Only prednisone works to a certain extend. Of course, when the medicine stops, there was more outbreaks.
Then this same doctor did two biopsy on me, and concluded it's folliculitis, and I was on antibiotics for 1 month together with a stronger dosage of
prednisone. This treatment didn't cure me either and I was scratching day and night, especially at night. All my
cloths and bed sheet has blood on them.
Then I switched to a different
dermatologist, who upon seeing me said I got Prurigo Nodularis. He prescribed Tramcinolone (0.1%) and Doxenphin to take
before bedtime. I was on this for 2 consecutive months and my symptoms got worse due to excessive scratching and
inability to heal.
When I visit this doctor again, he said the only cure is through PUVA
treatment. The only two units of PUVA is not available right away. And my itchiness is all over my body.
Then I went to a 3rd dermatologist who has a PUVA equipment, but
she didn't think the PUVA will cure me. She wants me on some medicine but she won't give it to me until 1 month later to make sure I'm not
pregnant.
Finally I thought about Chinese herbal medicine and went to a Chinese doctor in Houston. After touching my pulses, the
doctor said the outbreak on my skin is due to my liver's incapable of discharging poison out of my body, so they showed up on my skin. She prescribed Chinese herbal medicine, one boiled to drink the bitter liquid, the other boiled to wash myself with. Believe it or not, 1 day after the treatment, my itchiness was already much better. Now I've taken 10 days of the bitter drink
and washed myself with the medicine, and I'm so much better. The itchiness is almost gone and all the red spots are turning dark and heal themselves.
Finally I got rid of the PN.
